VFW Service Office Open Despite Pandemic

Veterans in Yakima needing help with filing claims can still get that help at the Yakima VFW. The VFW’s Yakima Veterans Service Office is open to help veterans and families. A news release says service officers are available Monday through Friday and because of COVID-19 the appointments are on the phone. It’s a free service to all veterans and their family members provided by the Department of Washington Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Veterans can get help with preparing disability claim forms for initial claims, or secondary claims, explanation of VA correspondence, and follow-up on claims previously filed. Assistance with low-income pension benefits for eligible veterans, surviving spouse benefits and death benefits, is also available.
